Lessor Cornstalk Borer Advisory

This is an experimental product that monitors the weather conditions that favor the development of Lessor Cornstalk Borer (LCB) aka Elasmopalpus lignosellus. It is used to determine when to scout for LCB. The advisory uses LCB-Days. Simply put, LCB-Days are a running total of hot and dry weather minus cooler and wetter weather conditions during the growing season. Under hot and dry weather conditions, LCB populations can reach damaging levels.
The index is interpreted as follows:

5 to 10 LCB populations may be approaching economic injury levels
